Fast digital reading from a folding probe, so you know exactly when food is cooked
- guessing doneness
- unsafe or undercooked food
- bulky thermometers that are hard to store
Know exactly when your food is done
Stop cutting into the roast to check. Fold out the probe, read the LCD in seconds, and serve meat at the temperature the guide calls for.
A probe that folds away when you are done

A probe that folds away
The stainless probe tucks into the aluminium handle, so the unit lies flat in a kitchen drawer. Nothing sticks out of the utensil crock and nothing rattles around with the spatulas.

Read the LCD at a glance
The black LCD shows a live reading in °C or °F. Two buttons on the front handle the controls, so you can read a roast at the counter without squinting at a dial.

Printed guide on the back
Targets for beef, lamb, veal, pork, chicken and turkey, and fish run from rare to well done, in both °F and °C. The target is on the unit itself, so you never have to search for it.
Insert, wait for the number, pull the meat
- 1Fit the battery
Open the screw cover and insert one CR2032 button cell, which is not included. Close the cover snugly.
- 2Unfold the probe
Swing the stainless probe out of the handle until it locks in the open position.
- 3Insert into the thickest part
Push the probe into the thickest section of the meat, away from bone and fat. Pull the meat off the heat first.
- 4Wait for the number to settle
Hold the probe still and watch the LCD until the reading stops changing.
- 5Compare and fold it back
Check the number against the guide on the back, then fold the probe into the handle and put the unit away.
Keep it clean and it lasts
- Wipe the probe after each use
Clean the stainless probe with a damp cloth once it cools, then dry it before folding it back.
- Keep the battery cover snug
A loose screw cover can let the CR2032 shift and cut out the display.
- Store it folded flat
Keep the probe folded in the handle and the unit in a drawer, away from the hot grill.

Questions and answers
It runs on one CR2032 button cell. The battery is not included, so have one ready before the first cook. Close the screw cover after you fit it.
The probe is stainless steel and the body is brushed aluminium. Pull the meat off the heat, take the reading, then fold the probe back. Keep the unit out of direct flame and off the grate.
The unit lists a testing range of -10 to 200 °C, but it does not print an accuracy figure. Check it once in ice water and again in a pot of boiling water at sea level, then trust the reading for the rest of your cooks.
Yes. Put the probe in the liquid, wait for the number to settle, and read it in °C or °F. It handles milk and bath water the same way it handles a roast.
A dial thermometer has a long rigid stem that is slow to settle and awkward to store. This one reads on a digital LCD and folds flat in a drawer. The premium aluminium and stainless build costs more up front than a basic dial, and one ruined roast costs more than the difference.
