Description

Scoop the broth and leave the carrots behind. This 2-in-1 long-handled tool pairs a solid ladle bowl with a perforated strainer, so soup nights need one utensil instead of two. The pour lip keeps broth off the stove.

2-in-1 design: ladle and strainer in one long-handled tool

Solves
  • fishing out floating bits and vegetables from soup
  • pouring broth without spills or drips
  • needing two separate utensils
  • reaching into hot pots with short utensils

Scoop the broth, keep the rest

Stop fishing for carrots with a short spoon and juggling a second strainer. One long-handled tool holds broth, drains solids, and pours clean.

One spoon that scoops and strains

Scoop the broth, hold the solids

The solid bowl carries broth from the pot to your bowl. The perforated section drains the liquid back through its holes and keeps carrots, greens and dates in view. You stop switching between a ladle and a skimmer mid-stir.

Reach the bottom of deep pots

The handle runs 18.3 cm, so the bowl reaches well down into a deep pot. You stir and scoop from the rim without leaning over the steam. The whole tool measures 24.5 cm end to end.

Pour clean, hang it up

A small notch on the rim guides broth into a bowl without running down the side of the pot. A hole at the end of the handle lets it hang by the stove, off the counter and dry. It is light enough to sit in an ordinary drawer.

Scoop, hold, drain, pour

  1. 1
    Scoop with the solid bowl

Dip the solid ladle bowl into the pot and fill it with broth. The bowl is 8 cm across, enough for a generous scoop without slopping.

  2. 2
Lift the solids through the strainer

Turn the bowl so the perforated side takes the vegetables. Greens and carrot pieces stay in view while the liquid drains back through the holes.

  3. 3
    Drain over the pot

Hold the bowl above the pot for a moment so the broth runs back in before you lift.

  4. 4
    Pour from the lip

Tilt the bowl and let the broth run over the notch on the rim, straight into a serving bowl.

Keep it looking new

  • Hand wash

Warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Dry it before you put it away.

  • Keep off hot rings

Rest it on a spoon rest, not a burner or open flame. Plastic softens under direct heat.

  • Skip hard scrubbing

Soft food and broth are its job. Use a separate scraper for stuck-on bits so the holes stay clear.

  • Hang to store

The hanging hole at the handle end keeps it off the counter and dry.

Questions and answers

Is the plastic safe to leave in hot soup?
w
Wanelo · seller

It is made for ladling and straining soup and broth, so it sits in the pot while you work. Keep it out of direct heat, though. Rest it on a spoon rest instead of a burner ring, and do not use it for frying or searing.

Will the handle hold up under heavy stews?
w
Wanelo · seller

The handle is one lightweight piece, which makes it easy to lift. For dense potatoes or thick stew, use a slow scoop instead of prying. It is a soup tool, not a masher.

Does the perforated side drain well with chunky vegetables?
w
Wanelo · seller

Yes, for the usual soup load. The holes hold carrot pieces, dates and greens while broth runs back into the pot. Very fine herbs can slip through, so lift gently and let the bowl sit for a second.

How long is the handle for deep pots?
w
Wanelo · seller

The whole tool measures 24.5 cm, with an 18.3 cm handle and a bowl 8 cm across and 3.5 cm deep. That reach suits deep soup pots and hot pot, so you can work without leaning over the steam.

Can I hang it on a hook when not in use?
w
Wanelo · seller

Yes. The hanging hole sits at the end of the handle, so it hangs from a hook or nail by the stove. Keep it clear of the heat while it hangs.

Is it easier than using a ladle and skimmer together?
w
Wanelo · seller

Yes. You buy one tool instead of two, store one tool and wash one tool. Soup nights stop being a two-utensil routine, and your drawer keeps one slot instead of two.
