Is the glass bottle safe to carry in a gym bag or on a commute?

Yes, with a little care. The double-wall borosilicate body handles everyday knocks better than single-wall glass, but a hard floor can still chip it. Slide it into a padded sleeve or a bag with a side pocket and it rides fine next to keys and a laptop.
Is the stainless tea filter fine enough to keep loose leaves out?

The 304 stainless mesh holds back whole and broken leaves. Very fine tea dust can slip through the mesh, so a whole-leaf blend gives the cleanest cup.
How do I clean the gemstone chamber and the filter?

Twist off the removable base to reach the chamber and the inside of the glass, then rinse. Lift the stainless filter out and rinse the mesh after each use, especially after fruit pulp.
Are the crystals just decoration, or do they do anything?
