The headband folds down, so the headset slides into a backpack or carry-on without a case. Slide the extension back to its shortest setting before you fold it. Forcing a fold with the extension out puts strain on the joint.
Controls on the cup
Power, M/EQ, volume up and down, play or pause, and previous or next all sit on the earcup. You skip a track on a crowded bus without pulling out your phone. The built-in mic takes calls on the same cup.

Is the noise reduction real or just a marketing claim?

The up to 90 percent figure comes from the packaging, and it has not been independently tested. The cushions seal around the ear and cut a fair amount of engine hum and chatter, so expect a quieter ride than open headphones. This is not studio noise cancelling, and it will not silence a loud train.
Are these comfortable for long commutes?

The ear pads are cushioned and the headband extends, so you can set the fit for your head. Fit depends on head size, so extend the headband and sit with them for a few minutes before a long trip.
