Six fish-shaped ice pops in one silicone mold

Solves
  • boring store-bought ice pops
  • pops sticking in the mold
  • hard-to-release frozen treats

Homemade summer pops that come out whole

Tired of sticky, stuck pops after a hot afternoon? Fill six fish-shaped cavities, freeze, and lift each one out by its fish-tail stick.

Fish-tail sticks that lift out clean

Flexible two-tone silicone lets the walls flex as you pull. Grab the fish-tail stick and the pop comes up whole, with no tug-of-war and no sticky fingers at the freezer door.

Six fish in one tray

Six matching cavities and six matching sticks fill in a single pour. One batch gives the whole group a treat, and the sticks sit square in every cavity. Pair the tray with your collection if you want a second tray going.

Small enough for a summer shelf

The tray measures 24.5 x 11.6 x 11.7 cm, a footprint that fits a standard freezer shelf without shoving the yogurt aside. The set is one tray and six fish sticks, so there is nothing else to store.

Fill, freeze, and lift out in four steps

  1. 1
    Fill the cavities

Pour juice, yogurt or blended fruit into each fish-shaped cavity. Leave a small gap at the top, since thick mixtures expand as they freeze.

  2. 2
    Insert the sticks

Set one fish-tail stick into each cavity and check that it sits upright before the tray goes in the freezer.

  3. 3
    Freeze until firm

Freeze until the pops are solid all the way through. A partly frozen centre is the usual reason a pop breaks on removal.

  4. 4
    Warm and lift

Run warm water over the outside of the tray for a few seconds, then lift each pop out by its fish-tail handle.

Fits a standard freezer shelf

Questions and answers

Will the fish pops stick or break when I take them out?
w
Wanelo · seller

Freeze each pop until it is firm all the way through. Then run warm water over the outside of the tray for a few seconds and lift by the fish-tail stick. Most cracked pops come from pulling too early, so give the centre time to set.

How big is the tray, and will it fit my freezer?
w
Wanelo · seller

The tray measures 24.5 x 11.6 x 11.7 cm. That is a compact footprint for a standard freezer shelf, but measure your shelf height if you plan to stack it under other containers.

Can I make just one or two pops at a time?
w
Wanelo · seller

Yes. Fill only the cavities you need and leave the rest empty. A full tray gives you a week of afternoon treats, so most families fill all six and keep the leftovers in the freezer.

Is it worth it compared with store-bought pops?
w
Wanelo · seller

The tray is a one-time purchase. Each batch uses juice or yogurt you already have, and the same six cavities run all summer. Once you stop buying multipacks every week, the tray pays for itself.

How do I clean the silicone mold?
w
Wanelo · seller

Rinse the tray after use and wash it by hand in warm soapy water. Turn the silicone inside out to reach the fish tails, then let it dry fully before you put it away.
