Your TV already sends out digital sound. This converter turns the optical or coaxial signal into stereo RCA, so the amp and speakers you own can play it. It is a compact metal box with gold-plated jacks and the optical cable included.
Converts digital optical or coaxial audio into stereo RCA analog output
- no analog input on amplifier or speakers
- TV or console with only digital audio output
- need to connect digital source to RCA equipment
Your TV's digital sound, delivered to the amp you already own
Optical or coaxial audio from your TV or console goes in, and stereo RCA comes out. Your amplifier and powered speakers play the sound your TV was already making, and nothing else in the living room has to change.
One box, two digital inputs, stereo RCA out

Two digital inputs, one analog output
The Toslink optical input takes the cable from your TV's optical port. The coaxial input handles sources with a coaxial digital output. Either way the unit converts the signal to stereo L/R RCA, so the same two cables run to your amp.

Gold-plated jacks in a solid metal shell
The housing is matte black metal and the RCA jacks are gold-plated. It feels more finished than a plastic dongle of the same size, and the jacks give a plain, solid fit for standard RCA plugs.

Powered by USB, with a red status light
The unit runs on DC 5V from the included USB to DC cable. A red LED on the housing lights when power is on, so you can see the box is running before you touch the amp.
Connect it in four steps
- 1Run the optical cable
Plug the included Toslink cable into the optical output on your TV or console, then the other end into the converter's optical input.
- 2Connect the RCA pair
Run a stereo RCA cable from the converter's left and right outputs to an AUX or line input on your amp. Match the red and white plugs to their colors.
- 3Power it up
Plug the USB to DC 5V cable into the converter and into a USB port or wall adapter. The red LED lights when the unit is on.
- 4Select the input
Set the amp to the input you used. If the sound stays silent, check that the TV's digital audio output is set to PCM.

Digital sound, analog gear

The sound is there, the jack is not
Your TV has a working digital audio output, but the amp on the shelf only has RCA inputs. So the dialogue plays from the TV's thin speakers, or the amp sits silent while you hunt for the remote. Your good speakers are fine. They just cannot read the signal.

One small box closes the gap
The converter sits between the two. Toslink optical or coaxial audio comes in, and stereo left and right RCA goes out to the amp. The box is small enough to tuck behind a TV stand, and it runs from DC 5V through the included USB cable.
Plug in once and keep your setup
Connect it one time, pick the matching AUX or line input on the amp, and that is the whole routine. Movies, streaming and console sound all come through the system you already trust, with no new receiver and no new speakers.

Questions and answers
Yes. The converter outputs stereo left and right RCA, so it connects to any amp or powered speaker with an AUX, line or RCA input. Choose an input labeled for stereo analog sources, not phono.
If the TV or console has an optical (Toslink) or coaxial digital audio output, yes. Check the back of the device for a small square optical port or a round coaxial jack. The converter accepts both.
Use the optical cable for a Toslink output. The included cable is Toslink. For a coaxial output, use a coaxial cable into the coaxial input. Each device uses one type, so match the cable to the port on your source.
It runs on DC 5V from the included USB to DC cable. You can plug it into a USB port on the TV or a USB wall adapter. A wall adapter is the steadier choice if the TV port is weak.
The metal housing and gold-plated RCA jacks give you a sturdier connection than a flimsy plastic adapter. Compare the cost to replacing an amp with digital inputs: one small converter keeps the amp and speakers you already own, and that is the real saving.
