Description

Dinner stops being a table-protection exercise when the pot lands on a matte hexagon mat. The open lattice vents steam, the raised rim holds drips, and the table underneath stays clean. Made in black, warm white, dusty blue and brick red to suit modern dining rooms.

Heat-resistant, waterproof and oil-proof hexagon silicone mat that protects tables from hot pots, bowls and cups

Solves
  • hot pots scorching the dining table
  • wet or greasy spills soaking into surfaces
  • cups and bowls sliding on smooth tabletops

Hot dishes on the table, no marks left behind

Before: pots and wet bowls leave rings and grease on your dining table. After: a matte hexagon mat takes the heat and the spills so the table stays clean.

Vented lattice and a raised rim, built for dinner

Lattice that lets heat escape

The open triangular cutouts let steam and heat rise from under the pot instead of building up against the table. The lattice keeps the mat flexible, so it lies flat on a wooden or lacquered top.

A raised rim that holds the mess

A raised edge runs around each hexagon, so soup, sauce and coffee drips stay on the silicone. Wipe the mat, and the table underneath never sees the drip. works the same way for pots that run hotter than a cup.

Matte finish for a modern table

The soft-touch matte silicone comes in black, warm white, dusty blue and brick red. Hexagons tessellate neatly, so a set looks deliberate on a Scandinavian-style dining table rather than like a plain mat.

Rinse, dry and reuse after every meal

  • Rinse after each meal

Wipe off grease and food residue before it dries into the lattice.

  • Air-dry flat

Dry it fully before stacking so trapped moisture does not leave an odour.

  • Keep it off the cutting board work

Use a separate board. Knives can nick the silicone and leave cut edges that hold grease.

Measure your pot base before you choose

  • 13.8 cmWidth
  • 12 cmHeight

A small footprint: it covers the base of a cup, bowl or small pot, not a large casserole.

Questions and answers

Will a 13.8 cm by 12 cm mat fit under my pot?
w
Wanelo · seller

The mat measures 13.8 cm wide and 12 cm high, so it suits a cup, a bowl or the base of a small pot. Measure your pot base first. If the base is much wider than the mat, the mat will cover only part of it, and the rest of the base will sit on the table.

What is the heat limit?
w
Wanelo · seller

The mat is made for hot pots, bowls and cups. No specific temperature limit is printed on the product details we have, so let a pot come off the boil and rest for a moment before setting it on the mat. Hot cookware straight from the stove is where scorching happens.

Does grease or odour stay in the silicone after a few months?
w
Wanelo · seller

Silicone does not soak up liquid the way cloth does, so it rinses clean. Odour comes from grease left to sit. Wash the mat after each meal, let it air-dry flat, and it stays fresh.

Why not keep the cork trivet or cloth placemats I already own?
w
Wanelo · seller

Cloth soaks through to the wood, and cork takes up liquid too. A silicone mat catches the drip on its raised rim, so you rinse one piece and it is ready for the next meal. If you also want fabric for the table, our range pairs well with it.

Will the colours suit a modern Scandinavian table?
w
Wanelo · seller

The matte finish comes in black, warm white, dusty blue and brick red. Warm white and dusty blue suit light oak and pale wood, while black and brick red stand out on a lighter table.
